Ik vond de uitzending "Wiki's Waarheid" zeer interesant. Ik vond het goed om alle meningen en voor en nadelen te hooren.

There are valid fears about using Wikipedia; that the information on it is untrustworthy, created by amateurs without experience or academic background. But I believe that even these "amateurs" can have information worth sharing.

Truth and knowledge can be subjective. One shouldn't trust that everything broadcast on the news or published in newspapers or books is trustworthy; there can always be a bias or agenda behind it. I think that as long as Wikipedia has administrators and editors who keep track of everything, Wikipedia can be just as trustworthy as conventional information sources.

There are so many people contributing and watching articles on Wikipedia that I think it can become a case of the majority deciding what is truth. In most cases that I have seen, people (or admins and editors at least) are very fair and can always link or direct to alternate opinions in other articles or other places.

Wikipedia is interactive and dynamic. I think that the idea and purpose behind it is brilliant, and in my opinion that purpose is being carried out very well. I in any case am totally satisfied with Wikipedia at this point in time.


Wikipedia als bron in inlichtingwerk:
Ik doe nog niet veel inlichtingwerk op mijn stage, maar ik gebruik Wikipedia wel voor mijn eigen kennis. Het is zeer handig om bijvoorbeeld de betekenis van terms te leren, vooral voor mij als ik een onbekende Nederlandse woord of term hoor. Het is zeer makkelijk en snel om even iets op te zoeken; en dan krijg je meer informatie dan in een woordenboek maar ook vaak niet zo veel als in een encyclopedie. Ik vind het zelf zeer makkelijk om te navigate, dus vind ik snel wat ik wil weten.

Ik zou Wikipedia wel als bron gebruik in inlichtingwerk, maar wel in samenwerking met andere bronnen als het kan. Ik zou zo vaak mogelijk de References op een artikel bekijken in plaats van alle informatie op de Wiki artikel te nemen als waar.
